The safe design for the facilities shall be achieved by using the results of the Project Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) Report, the Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) Report, the Explosion and Radiation Study Report, as required by the Manufacture, Storage and Import of Hazardous Chemical Rules, 1989, and good all industry safety engineering practice as demonstrated by the following Regulations and international codes and standards.
Safety shall be the engineering and design activity aimed at minimizing the risk and damage to personnel and equipment during construction, operation, and maintenance of the system.
Personal protection shall be provided in the facilities to safeguard personnel from any danger situation during construction, operation and maintenance.
The engineering design and construction of the plant shall ensure inherent safety by paying attention to, Plant layout, Area Classification, Instrumentation & Control, Fire and Gas detection, Over-pressure protection systems, Equipment isolations for maintenance, Piping specifications for maintenance, Equipment design, Vent and flares, Drains, Control Building requirements, Escape routes, Closed locked doors and warnings signs, with panic exit bars,Fire and Safety Equipment, Permit to work system, Personnel protection, Construction safety procedures
